A dried gourd carved to give a southwest look. This is a functional bowl to be used with dry items like you would any basket. It has not been treated to hold wet items but if you would want it would be easy to coat the inside with a moisture proofing so it could be used for flower pots etc

This bowl is southwest design with faux beading and a faux suede finish.

.All gourds that I do are dried for about 1 1/2 yrs and will not spoil. Many people think of gourds as a pumpkin that will spoil. These are hard shell gourds and once dried will stay that way for years. They have found gourd bowls used but previous civilizations that are thousands of yrs old. Once dried the gourd is fiberous similar to wood and can be treated like wood. I get most of my gourds from CA or AZ as the longer the growing period the thicker the walls of the gourds.
